Amy and her photographer husband, Harold Head, started the cosmetics business nearly 25 years ago. For the first thirteen of those years, Amy worked alone providing one-on-one consultations with her clients, much like you can experience in her stores today. These one-on-one consultations help clients to discover and rediscover their natural beauty with Amy Head Cosmetics.
Amy grew up in an artistic family and painted as a child. As a young adult, her modeling experience revealed to her how makeup could "naturally" enhance. With the help of her husband's photography of face after face, she was able to teach herself the important techniques and truths about beauty. These truths became the underpinning of her business concept.
In 2000, Amy and Harold felt it was time to expand. Amy developed a way to train others to "do" makeup the way she had done for years, as well as to teach women how to apply the makeup design for themselves. Harold's ability to design the stores, along with the photography and graphic design for marketing the brand, created the "right stuff" for a successful expansion. They currently have stores in Ridgeland, Oxford, and Birmingham. Amy Head Cosmetics can also be found exclusively at the Alluvian Spa in Greenwood, Vitality Spa in Starkville, and Reed's Department Store in downtown Tupelo.
Harold and Amy live in the woods of Madison County and have a daughter MacKenzie, and dogs Milly and Poppy.
